How to Determine the Severity of Facial Rosacea?
Understanding facial telangiectasia and its severity helps us provide more targeted treatment.
Mild Facial Telangiectasia: This applies to the initial stages of facial telangiectasia, where the skin appears redder than normal. Some patients experience redness on both cheeks with circular borders; the skin’s stratum corneum is thin and relatively sensitive. Treatment is indicated for cases caused by climate changes, various foods, medications, metals, cosmetics, or cosmetic procedures.
Moderate Facial Rosacea: Applies to cases with slightly more severe symptoms, where visible red threads crisscross the skin like a spider web, scattered across the face. In severe cases, these may merge into patches, resulting in a uniformly red face. The skin’s stratum corneum is thin, capillaries are damaged, fragile, and aged, lacking elasticity, and the skin has poor tolerance and is highly sensitive. Used to treat conditions caused by changes in weather, various foods, medications, metals, cosmetics, or cosmetic surgery.
Severe Facial Telangiectasia: Suitable for individuals with severe, sensitive-skin-type telangiectasia. Symptoms recur frequently and are difficult to cure. The skin may exhibit red bumps, patches of hives, blisters, etc., accompanied by fever, burning itchiness and pain, coughing, and shortness of breath. Symptoms persist for extended periods, accompanied by facial redness, eyelid swelling, and intense itching, leading to streaming tears and an inability to open the eyes. Year after year, these conditions recur, resulting in lichenified skin changes and increased pigmentation.
